Me and Mun Teng at Titiwangsa on our day…
” If men ruled the world, Valentine’s Day will be on February 29 ” by anonymous
Well, this means that if that were true, and there actually exist a pararrel world where men does really rule the world, this year will be a nightmare because the last time February 29 exist is way back in the year 1996. The year 2000 doesn’t have a leap year because every turn of the millenium the leap year will be skipped to adjust the time back to its ‘real’ position.
Thus, it has been 8 years since ‘the other’ world celebrated Valentine’s Day. Wonder what will they be doing. Or rather the men will be doing.
Oops…anyway, did I just say nightmare. What so nightmare about Valentine’s Day anyway. It is just another fine day when the prices of flowers just shoot up 100 tp 200 %. It also a time when a lot budding husband will be propsing to their love ones. A time of fine dining at a fancy restaurant. A time to confess your love to your secret admirer. It can also be a day where single’s throwing out a party to celebrate their singleness, or some of the more desperate ones like Kok How would probably attend some icebreaking-10 second dating game type of thingy.
But anyway , who is this Valentine anyway. This name is almost synonymous to expression of love and his name sounds kinda lovey dovey romantic. He shares the same initial as me anyway. V. Definitely no Vengence or any vendeta on Valentine’s Day ya. Only the Victorious story of love. Haha…
Lemme share my story about Valentine’ Day last year la…2007.
As all of you have known, or yet to know, during that time I was pursuing this Klang girl who is awesomely beautifull, down to earth, sweet and extremely kind hearted. So this fatefull day, I went to see her. I didn’t do anything really special. But on this day she was sick. Fever. Thus I went to her house and wanted to bring her to see the doctor. She refuse because she was afraid to see the doctor. After much persuasion finally she decided to go. I brought her to this clinic in Klang town and it was kinda romantic I might say. Valentine’ Day. She’s sick . I being the ’so-called-hero’ brings her to the doctor, accompany her back home. Waited for her to rest at her home while I chat with her mum. Nothing sort like a standard Valentine’s Day dinner sort of thing. But it was good.
For me, last year’s Valentine’s day signifise to me that I will take care of her through thick and thin. To stand by her when everyone is against her and to comfort her the best I can when she’s feeling down. Yes, I believe what I believe is true. Valentine’s Day is just a day. You don’t care for someone just for that day. The challenge is Not how romantic you can be on Valentine’s Day. The real challenge for Valentine would be you are able to turn your everyday a Valentine’s Day for the one you loves. To bring surprises on some normal day. To turn the gloomy Mondays into a fanastico Mondays. Haha… Whatever la. You know what I mean.
